Covid certainly caught us all unprepared. Recently the AP reported that 7% of former churchgoers said they will never return. Most churches are down about 25% in attendance from pre-covid. Several churches have closed and many more are without pastors that were planning on retiring over the past couple of years and Covid just seemed to be the time to finalize their decisions.
In the midst of this Inter-Church saw 8 churches call a pastor. We currently have 21 churches searching, but we trust God will provide. Additionally many of our churches are reporting giving has not been impacted or has actually gone up. We continue to see God at work and prayers answered. While covid might have caught us all flat footed, God already had a plan for His people and His churches. Intead of worrying about covid or the government, make sure you take time to thank God for all He has done for you and for our local churches!
